Union High School
The commencement ceremony for Union High School was 6:30 p.m. May 26 in the high school gym.
Student speakers were Katie Gezik, valedictorian; and Holly Murray, salutatorian.
Katie is the daughter of Paula and Jim Gezik of Rimersburg. She was president of the National Honor Society and treasurer of both the senior class and the art club, and participated in basketball, volleyball, marching band, concert band, concert choir, county choir, district choir, and travel club.
She is attending Pennsylvania Western University, Clarion, for a degree in biology premedicine. She then plans on attending Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to become a doctor in emergency medicine.
Holly is the daughter of Tim and Susan Murray of Rimersburg. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and participated in marching band, art club, prom committee, Girl Scouts, Bots IQ, travel club and physics club.
She is attending West Virginia University to obtain a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering with a minor in aerospace studies.
Class officers were Cole Davis, president; Grace Kindel, vice president; Katie Gezik, treasurer; and Holly Murray, secretary.
