Emily Lillard, daughter of David and Janice Lillard of Cranberry Township, has been named the recipient of a maurices-/dressbarn scholarship.A student at Mercyhurst College, she was chosen for the award based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, goals, an essay and financial need.———

<B>Paul Murphy</B>, a senior at Portersville Christian School, has been nominated to compete in the national Principal's Leadership Award scholarship program, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.There will be 100 national PLA winners chosen this spring to receive a college scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $12,000.Murphy was nominated for the competition by Jeff DeSantes principal at Portersville Christian.While at school, Murphy has been an active member of the soccer and basketball teams, fine arts dramas and musicals, student council and National Honor Society. He also serves as class vice president and as a Boy Scout junior assistant and scoutmaster.He plans to attend Houghton College in the fall to pursue a double major in Bible and philosophy.———

<B>Joshua Barthlow</B> of Butler was recently inducted into the Pennsylvania Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Chi honor society.A student at Robert Morris University, he is pursuing a degree in marketing.———
