Mary Elizabeth Ord Vincent
Mary Elizabeth Ord Vincent, 82, of Franklin Township passed away at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at her home.
Born in McKeesport, Oct. 18, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank Sayers Ord and Nell Gertrude McMillen.
On April 28, 1950, she married William Elmer Vincent, who died Feb. 21, 1998.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts, reading, bowling and gardening.
Surviving are one son, John E. Vincent and his wife, Lorraine, of Slippery Rock; three daughters, Phyllis K. Smeltzer and her husband, Dan, of Slippery Rock, Leslie J. Miller and her husband, David, of Woodland Park, Colo., and Gloria I. Rock and her husband, Daniel, of Butler; and two half-brothers, James L. Ord and his wife, Sandra, of Ft. Meyers, Fla., and David F. Ord of Tampa, Fla. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Michael B. Vincent, Roger O., Ross A., Amanda E. and Nicole L. Miller, and Alexis D. and Olivia N. Rock; and three stepgrandchildren, Teresa DiMichele, Joseph LaDue and Chelsea Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, John Sanders Ord; and her stepmother, Mabel Franklin Ord.
VINCENT — Visitation for Mary Elizabeth Ord Vincent, who passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, will be at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Jeff Curtis, pastor of the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, officiating.The interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church Building Fund, the Prospect Library or the Butler Ambulance Service.
