Anna Elizabeth Fox
Anna Elizabeth Fox, 96, of Slippery Rock passed away at 10:35 p.m. Sunday at her home.
She was born in Young-stown, Ohio, on April 25, 1917, to Milo Jones and Julia Regina Conner Jones.
She married Elmer Ellsworth Fox on March 17, 1933, and he passed away on Oct. 19, 2004.
Anna was a homemaker and a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, working in her flower gardens and baking.
Survivors include her five daughters, Shirley A. and her husband, Robert W. Lindey, of West Liberty, Beverly J. and her husband, E. John Dollman, of Slippery Rock, Linda L. and her husband, Robert L. Barnes, of Harrisville, Patricia S. and her husband, Joseph W. Ridley, of Slippery Rock and Sandra M. Fox of Slippery Rock; and her two sons, Robert E. and his wife, Kathy L., of Slippery Rock, Randy L. Fox of Norfolk, Va., and Michael King, who she thought of as a son, of Norfolk, Va. She also is survived by her 15 grandchildren, her 17 great-grandchildren and her eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Ansel Jones; and her sister, Alice Stroupe.
FOX — The family of Anna Elizabeth Fox, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.The funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Keith McIlwain, pastor of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, officiating.The family welcomes friends for refreshments at the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church following the funeral service. Interment will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, 130 Franklin St. Slippery Rock, PA 16057 or to the Slippery Rock Community Library, 316 N.
