Clara A. Kemper, 57, of Butler died Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born April 7, 1955, in Orange County, Calif., she was a daughter of Dean and Charity (McLaughlin) Kemper.

She graduated from the Pittsburgh Culinary Arts School and had worked at the AK Steel plant in Butler for the past 15 years.

Clara was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and sewing, and was close with her nieces and nephews, who knew her as “Sissy.”

Surviving are her mother, Charity Kemper of Butler; two brothers, Robert (Lillian) Kemper of Alabama and Edward (Jeanne) Kemper of Lyndora; one brother-in-law, Roger Crawford of Butler; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Kemper, and her sister, Karen Crawford.

KEMPER — Friends of Clara A. Kemper, who died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
