Genevieve A. Tarcha

Genevieve A. Tarcha, 93, a long-term resident of Earlysville, Va., departed this life on Sunday at the home of her son and his wife, Joel and Clare Tarcha, of Buena Vista, Colo.

She was born March 5, 1925, in Lyndora, and was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Mechanic) Burka.

Genevieve graduated from Butler High School in 1944.

She married Paul Tarcha in 1944, and they enjoyed 72 years of a wonderful life together.

She was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Charlottesville, Va., since January of 1981.

She worked at the former La Vogue By Seiferts women's fashion clothing store in Charlottesville, where she was awarded the Million Dollar Club plaque in 1989.

Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Tarcha Alain and her husband, John Alain, of Oxnard, Calif.; two sons, Geoffrey P. Tarcha and his wife, Mary Hobson, of Solana Beach, Calif., and Joel T. Tarcha and his wife, Clare (Cennamo) Tarcha; and two grandchildren, Thomas P. Tarcha and Nicole Catherine Tarcha, both of Buena Vista, Colo.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tarcha; her sisters, Catherine and Dorothy; and her brothers, Louis and Nicholas.

TARCHA — A memorial service for Genevieve A. Tarcha, who died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 15440 County Road, 306 Buena Vista, Colo.
