Mary M. Santoro, 72, of Zelienople died Monday at Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.

Born Sept. 2, 1937, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (Scarnato) Santoro.

Miss Santoro was a lifetime member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Zelienople.

She was a former employee of the Evergreen Nursing Center and the Passavant Retirement Community. She was a former mayor of Zelienople and the first Zelienople councilwoman.

She is survived by a sister, Christine Shaffer of Brookville; and a brother, Brother Benedict Santoro, S.S.P. of Staten Island, N.Y.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Santoro, and a sister, Rose Santoro.

<B>SANTORO</B> — Friends of Mary M. Santoro, who died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, will be received from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 West Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Father Robert M. Miller, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Gregory Cemetery, Zelienople.Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W.
