Betty Jane Antal, 83, of Slippery Rock, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 19, 2023.

She was born in Universal, Allegheny County, Pa., on Feb. 22, 1940, to Paul S. Bary and Mary A. Gruchalak Bary.

She graduated from Penn Hills High School, Class of 1958.

She married Thomas Michael Antal on May 9, 1959.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a florist and was a faithful member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, St. Faustina Parish, in Slippery Rock. She volunteered at the Slippery Rock Food Cupboard.

She enjoyed cycling, birds, animals, flowers, being outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas, at home; three sons, Timothy M. Antal of Charleston, S.C., Michael P. “Mickey” (Jennifer) Antal of Slippery Rock and Brian D. (Sarah) Antal of Fombell; and nine grandchildren, Ashleigh, Blake, Joshua, Katie, Abbie, Michael, Thomas, Elsa and Ben.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Thomas P.; and her sister, MaryAnn.

ANTAL — The family of Betty Jane Antal, who died Friday, May 19, 2023, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Faustina Parish, St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock.
