Charles W. “Bill” Skidmore
Charles W. “Bill” Skidmore, 75, of Butler passed away at 5 p.m. Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born Nov. 7, 1940, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late William R. Skidmore and Ruth (Fredrick) Skidmore.
Bill was Lutheran. He was a plant engineer and maintenance supervisor for Spang and Magnetics for 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Bill was a former member of the NRA, Magnetics Golf League and the Western Pennsylvania Paddlesport Association. He also was a member of Summit Township Sportsman Club.
Bill enjoyed leather crafting, wood working, and was a self-taught bourbon aficionado. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary A. Skidmore to whom he married July 6, 2007; two sons, David Skidmore and his wife, Brenda, of Butler and Chris Skidmore and his wife, Kim, of Butler; five grandchildren, Tyler Skidmore, Amanda Skidmore, Lauren Skidmore, Braden Skidmore and Darin Skidmore; one brother, James R. Skidmore and his wife, Laverne, of Allison Park; a number of nieces and nephews; and his former first wife, Nancy Skidmore of Butler.
SKIDMORE — Friends of Charles W. “Bill” Skidmore, who died Saturday, May 14, 2016, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Memorial services will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
