Edward E. O'Shea, 86, of Hilliards, passed away peacefully the evening of Oct. 25, 2021.

Ed was born on Sept. 15, 1935, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late William O'Shea and Katherine Polcher O'Shea Gurrola.

He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict as a demolition expert.Ed retired in 1984 as a steel worker from U.S. Steel, and in 1995, he retired as a deputy sheriff in Allegheny County.He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Penn Hills Infinity Lodge 546, and was a member of the Boyers Sportsman's Association.Ed is survived by one daughter, Robin McKitrick of Pittsburgh; one granddaughter, Lauren (David) Oros of Allison Park; two sisters, Shirley McCarthy and Maureen Grimm, and two brothers, Paul O'Shea and Martin “Chookie” Gurrola, all from the Pittsburgh area; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat “Kitty Kat.”He is also survived by Marsha (Ray) Clark of Butler, Carrie Clark of Slippery Rock, the extended families of Lu Ann (David) Beachem of Butler, and Donna Jo Ealy of Boynton Beach, Fla.Ed was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Donna Louise “Weezer” Day; his wife, Florence O'Shea; one sister, Theresa Morgan; and three brothers, Ronald, Gary and Raymond O'Shea.A personal thank you to the staff at the VA and the VNA of Butler, especially his nurses, Trisha Pollard, Penelope Diehm and Abby Campbell for the excellent care Ed received over the last two years and to the staffs at Sugar Creek Station and The Lakes at Jefferson, for his care during his final days.O'SHEA — A memorial visitation for Edward E. O'Shea, who died Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kathryn Soltis officiating.Interment will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Ridgeville.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Lutheran Senior Life Hospice VNA, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences available at www.williamfyoungfh.com.
