Richard Dale Hoover
Richard Dale Hoover, 90, of Cabot, formerly of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully at 5:45 p.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Dale was born in Blairsville on April 26, 1922. He was the son of the late Florence E. (Royer) and Paul R. Hoover.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After the war, Dale worked at PPG Industries in Creighton for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
Dale was an active member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver where he was a member of “The Brotherhood,” an all male choral group. Dale was a member of the Saxonburg VFW and the Saxonburg Sportsman's Association. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Dale was also a volunteer with the Freeport Meals on Wheels for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucille J (Turner) Hoover; his two children, Patricia Hoover of Phoenix, Ariz., and Thomas (Linda) Hoover of Coldstream, British Columbia, Canada; his brother, Harry E. “Buzz” (Pat) Hoover of Buffalo Township; his sister, Shirley A. Hewitt of Buffalo Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Robert Hoover; and a niece, Deborah Ukish.
<B>HOOVER</B> — Funeral services for Richard Dale Hoover, who passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Zion United Methodist Church on Bear Creek Road, Sarver, with the Rev.
