Miller

John A. Miller, 61, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1952, in Butler to the late Robert D. Miller and Huguette Gueslin Miller.

John was a 1970 graduate of Karns City High School, then he went on to study at Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Texas, Mississippi and North Carolina.

John was employed at Witco Chemical, General Electric and most recently at Calumet Penreco and in the Tire Department at Sam's Club in Butler.

He was a member of the VFW, Lyndora, and the Chicora Moose. He enjoyed gardening and loved golfing and bowling and his motorcycle. John was a foster parent with his wife, Pamela, for the Sheltie Rescue. He loved his furry friends, Joey and Ellie.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Pamela J. Miller, who he married on July 30, 1977; his brother, William Miller and his wife, Cherrie, of Bruin; his three sisters, Chantal Knappenberger and her husband, Fred, of Saxonburg, Charlene Miller of Chicora, and Bonnie Miller of Moon Township; his sister-in-law, Patricia Lingler and her husband, Wayne, of Chicora; his niece, Danielle Ball and her husband, Darin; his four nephews, Tim Knappenberger and his wife, Lisa, Conan Lingler and his wife, Jennifer, Justin Lingler and his wife, Kimberley, and Cameron Lingler and his girlfriend, Alex; and his several great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Miller; his great-niece, Rose Knappenberger; and his in-laws, Joseph and Aldean Morrow.

Miller — The friends of John A. Miller, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at theThompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
