Adeline M. “Toots” Miller

Adeline M. “Toots” Miller, 77, of East Brady died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 3, 1938, in Bradys Bend, Toots was the daughter of Joseph and Lucille M. (Liberto) Farone.

Toots was a 1956 graduate of East Brady High School and a 1958 graduate of the Butler Beauty School. She worked for three years in Ford City at Kilgore's Beauty Shop. Then she was a partner at the Beauty Spot in Bradys Bend for three years.

After marrying Albert Miller on April 10, 1976, she relocated to Philadelphia for three years and worked at Joseph's Beauty Salon. They returned to Western Pennsylvania to own and operate the Tootsy Roll Inn in Bradys Bend for 17 years. During those years, they proudly sponsored a softball team that won more than 150 trophies.

After the sale of the bar, for 14 years, Toots was employed by Taylor's Riverside in East Brady as the deli manager, retiring in 1999.

She was an avid volunteer in the East Brady Area for the Riverfest Committee, the Sons of Italy Lodge 1484, the St. Patrick Young at Heart, where she currently served at secretary, and the East Brady Holiday Committee. In honor of her commitment to the East Brady community, Toots was named Citizen of the Year in 2006.

Toots was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, where she had previously served as a eucharistic minister and volunteered for church functions.

Toots is survived by two stepsons, Francis (Ann Marie) Miller of Newark, Del., and Michael (Jenny) Miller of Satellite Beach, Fla.; one sister, Phyllis Bortmes of Chicora; and one brother, Joseph (Mary Jo) Farone of Chicora.

She is also survived by two grandsons; four granddaughters; and very special nieces and nephews.

Toots was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Al, who died Aug. 12, 2012; and one stepson, Albert Miller III.

MILLER — Friends of Adeline M. “Toots” Miller, who died Monday, April 11, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.A parish prayer service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Eusebius Church, East Brady, with the Rev.
