Ronald C. “Red” Gold
Ronald C. “Red” Gold, 73, of Butler passed away Dec. 4 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
He was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Butler to the late Harry Gold and Marian (Renfrew) Gold.
Ron worked as a metallurgist at Armco Steel, retiring on April 25, 1997.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving in Greenland.
Ron was a member of the Happy Hunters Club in Fenelton and the American Legion 683 of Cabot.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to casinos and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ron was a member of the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathryn (Boyd) Gold, who he married June 10, 1967; one son, Ronald A. Gold and his companion, Diane Stevens, of Butler; four daughters, Mary E. Dennis and her husband, Robert, of Chicora, Lisa K. Ulrich and her husband, Joseph, of Eau Claire, Barbara A. LeGrand and her companion, Ron Green, of Chicora, and Becky L. Cumberland and her husband, Randy, of Gilbert, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Angela, Timothy, Elizabeth, Thomas, Ricky, Garrett, Amanda, Alex, Dalton and Kaleb; one brother, Harry Gold, and his wife, Luella, of Butler; and also by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
GOLD — Memorial services for Ronald C. “Red” Gold, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church, 390 Frazier Road, Saxonburg, with the Rev.
