Knoch graduate Greg Bzorek, a junior offensive tackle for the Edinboro University football team, was named second team D2Football.com All-American.

The 6-foot-6, 318-pound Bzorek led an Edinboro offensive line that allowed a PSAC-low nine quarterback sacks. The Fighting Scots averaged 201.4 yards rushing per game as well.

PHILADELPHIA - Star receiver Terrell Owens will miss the final two games of the regular season and the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl because of a sprained right ankle, a devastating blow for the Philadelphia Eagles.Owens will have surgery Wednesday and stands only an outside shot at being able to play in the NFL's championship game on Feb. 6 - if Philadelphia makes it that far - head trainer Rick Burkholder said.Owens, who has 77 catches for 1,200 yards and a team-record 14 touchdowns, also has a fracture a few inches below his knee. But Burkholder still didn't rule out the chance that Owens would be able to run in five weeks - the weekend of the NFC title game.Owens was hurt on the second play of the third quarter of Philadelphia's win over Dallas on Sunday.

PITTSBURGH - First baseman Daryle Ward and the Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a $950,000, one-year contract.The deal reached Monday also included a $100,000 performance bonus.Ward, 29, hit 15 home runs and had 57 RBI in 79 games last season.

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the New England Patriots at home next year.OK, so it's only in the 2005 regular season - at least for now.When the Chargers wrapped up the AFC West on Sunday, the Steelers' 2005 schedule was finalized. They play each of the other three AFC division champions next season: the Chargers, Colts and Patriots.The Steelers meet the Jaguars, Titans, Bears, Lions and AFC East champion Patriots at home and the Texans, AFC South champion Colts, Packers, Vikings and Chargers on the road. They will also meet AFC North rivals Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland home and away.The NFL will announce the dates in the spring.The Patriots and Steelers could play in Pittsburgh three times within a year should the teams meet in the AFC Championship game there next month. The Steelers, who currently hold home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, beat New England 34-20 at Heinz Field on Oct. 31.
