Man, 29, pleads guilty to drug, gun charges
A Butler man pleaded guilty in four cases Tuesday, including drug and weapons charges, and is expected to be sentenced to at least 15 months in prison.
Bryan A. Perri, 29, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — crack cocaine, misdemeanor criminal mischief and possession of an illegal offensive weapon before Judge William Shaffer.
The plea agreements call for a total sentence of 15 to 30 months incarceration which can be served in the Butler County Prison, followed by probation as determined by the court. He is also expected to be ordered to pay court costs, restitution and fines or complete community service when he is sentenced on July 19.
Perri was on state parole at the time of the offenses, for a 2008 case for selling heroin and a revolver to an undercover police officer in Butler Township, and will also face a probation revocation hearing at the same proceeding, which could net him even more incarceration time. He had been sentenced to 30 to 60 months in state prison, followed by 10 years of probation in that case.
He was initially charged with felony possession with intent, criminal use of a communications facility, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on West New Castle Street on Aug. 8.
State police said Perri sold a police informant 2.69 grams of crack cocaine.
He pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent in that case.
Police then charged him with felony burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and criminal trespass after an incident at a home on Wilson Avenue on Aug. 31.
In that incident, Butler police said Perri entered an apartment when the occupants were in the Butler County Prison, and stole $2,155 worth of items.
Damage to the home was estimated at $595, documents said.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief in that incident.
Perri was then charged with felony possession with intent, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at his home in the 100 block of Mercer Street on Oct. 4.
Police said Perri again sold crack cocaine to a police informant, which weighed under a gram.
He pleaded to the second felony in that case.
Following the issuance of warrants in those cases, state police searched Perri's home on Oct. 5 and turned up drugs and a rifle. They said a plastic baggie of suspected marijuana was found in the freezer, several pills in a lock box, and four baggies containing an unknown substance, as well as a .22-caliber rifle, ammunition, a set of brass knuckles, two digital scales and $120 in currency that was in a safe.
Police said because he is a felon, Perri is prohibited from possessing firearms.
He pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offensive weapons charge in that case.
Perri was arrested Oct. 17, and continues to be held on $152,000 bail pending sentencing.
