Gloria Armstrong
Gloria Jean “Glo” Armstrong, 75, of Butler, passed away on May 8, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 22, 1948, in Bronx, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late John Borucinski and the late Jean Smedman Borucinski.
Gloria graduated from Bushwick High School in New York, and attended Ulster County Community College in New York.
She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for Demicco Motors in Kingston, N.Y.
Gloria enjoyed reading, history, card making, and playing golf with her husband. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family during the holidays. She was very passionate about greyhound rescues and adoption programs for over 25 years.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Alan Armstrong, the love of her life for 56 years; one son, John (Elizabeth) Armstrong of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; one daughter, Alana (Charles) Kildoo of Butler; four grandchildren; one brother, John Borucinski of Woodstock, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Gloria bravely fought lung cancer for 5½ years. The family would like to thank Butler Memorial Hospital, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Butler Health System, and Concordia Visiting Nurses for their exceptional care.
ARMSTRONG — Per her wishes, there will be no public visitation for Gloria Jean “Glo” Armstrong, who died Monday, May 8, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a local greyhound rescue program of the donor’s choice.
