Frances H. Strobel, 60, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 21, 1963, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Albert J. Gardina and Rachael (Williams) Gardina.

Frannie had attended Community Alliance Church, where she was active using her cooking talents.

She was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York. After graduating, she opened Gardina’s South Side Restaurant, where she met the love of her life, Howard Strobel. She was employed by Natili Restaurant for 35 years, known for her soups and sauces.

She loved baking and cooking and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She loved riding her Harley with her husband.

Surviving are her husband of over 36 years, Howard A. Strobel; a daughter, Jennifer R. (Chris) McKain of Butler; a son, Joseph C. Strobel of Butler; and her granddaughter, Graceyn McKain.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog.

STROBEL — Friends of Frances H. Strobel, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Saturday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with her pastor, Joe Floris officiating.

Burial will be private.
