Russell Redding confirmed as state’s Secretary of Agriculture
Russell Redding was unanimously confirmed Wednesday, May 10, by the Pennsylvania Senate to serve as the state’s 27th secretary of agriculture.
Gov. Josh Shapiro nominated Redding to continue serving as secretary, after he served from 2015 to 2022 under Gov. Tom Wolf.
Redding has spent more than 30 years serving Pennsylvania in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C., including on Capitol Hill as agriculture policy adviser to the late U.S. Sen. Harris Wofford, who served from 1991 to 1995.
He also served in the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture as secretary from 2009 to 2011 under Gov. Ed Rendell.
