SLIPPERY ROCK — Cameron Daugherty broke a 10-year old Slippery Rock University record in the men's pole vault Friday night at the SRU Last Chance Qualifierat the Bill Lennox Track.

Daugherty won the pole vault with an NCAA automatic qualifying clearance of 5.19 meters, just better than the previous Rock record of 5.18, set by Nick Wilpula in 2003.

Daugherty's height is the best in the PSAC this season and ranks fourth among all Division II athletes.

PITTSBURGH — The Caveman Bailey AAU basketball team, composed of athletes who played on the Butler Junior High team this winter, recently won the Caveman AAU North Pittsburgh Classic.The championship squad beat Rise High AAU by a 50-47 margin and downing the Steel City Elite 54-49 in the opening rounds, before dispatching the Youngstown Flash and Caveman Lindenbaum to win the title.Players on the team include: Joel Stutz, Jefferson Ford, Tyler Frederick, Jordan Bailey, Jason Gray, Steve Beichner, Ian McCarrior, Jace Stutz and Noah Ryder.
