John Vincent

Vincent

John Elmer Vincent, 68, of Slippery Rock, Brady Township, Butler County, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his residence at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023.

John was born in Butler, to William Elmer Vincent and Mary Elizabeth Ord Vincent.

He married Lorraine Elizabeth Latsch LaDue on June 6, 2002.

John was a loving husband, best friend and confidant, and an awesome and caring father and grandfather. He was also known for his wit, dry sense of humor, and for his love of Keystone Light. He inspired many and was loved by all.

John was an auto mechanic, serving surrounding auto dealerships for over 40 years. He was best known as a gunsmith. He owned and operated Hallston Custom Machining, where his customers came from as far away as Alaska and Florida. He had a special mechanical ability and could make anything. He solved many problems for customers who relied upon his creativity.

John was a member of the Moraine Conservation Sportsmen’s Association and shot along with members of the Tri-County Pistol League. He was a Master Class Bullseye Pistol Shooter. In addition, he was a social member of the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, where he provided numerous contributions to help with their gun raffle. He enjoyed riding his favorite Gold Wing motorcycle, and we are sure he rode it right through the gates of Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine at home; his son, Michael (Laura) Vincent of Pittsburgh; his stepdaughter, Terri (Vince) DiMichele of Butler; his stepson, Joe (Jen) LaDue of Butler; three sisters, Phyllis (Dan) Smeltzer of Slippery Rock, Leslie Miller (Chris Barr) of Colorado, and Gloria Rock of Butler; two stepgrandchildren, Emily and Lee DiMichele; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
