James Marcus Quast

James Marcus Quast, 48, of Slippery Rock passed away Wednesday at his home.

He was born March 27, 1970, in Pittsburgh, to William Garfield “Garry” Quast and Jacqueline “Jacque” Eleanor Jackobs Quast.

James graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1988 and worked as a laborer in construction.

He loved his kids, skateboarding, riding his motorcycle, golfing at Shamrock Golf Course and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, as well as carrying on his Dad's love of the Cubs and Bears. He also enjoyed concerts, road trips and travel.

He had a loving spirit and was a loyal friend to many.

James was preceded in death by his father, Garry.

Survivors include his mother, Jacque of Slippery Rock; his daughter, Angel Alexis Quast of Slippery Rock; three sons, Blade Garfield Quast of Slippery Rock, Layne Richard Christie and Declan Michael Christie, both of Hooker; two sisters, Anne R. (David) Efron of Baltimore, Md., and Mary Quast (Jon) Lutz of Alexandria, Va.; two nieces; and one nephew.

QUAST — A private interment service for James Marcus Quast, who died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, will be observed at Slippery Rock Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice.Smith Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
