Dorothy Mullen
Dorothy M. Mullen, 92, of Renfrew passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at her residence.
She was born April 11, 1931, in Butler, the daughter of the late Lawrence Hayden and the late Ada M. (Reash) Hayden.
Dorothy worked as a secretary to the dean of instruction at Butler County Community College, retiring in 1996. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Nixon United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for 40 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy graduated from Butler High School in 1949.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan L. (Gerald) Cupps of Butler, Cynthia L. (Charles) Yenick of Renfrew, and Lisa M. (Jack) Shaffer of Valencia; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Seth) McCall of Butler, Shalene (Dakota) Dickey of Butler, Kala (Kurtis) Ruffaner of Saxonburg and Jessica Yenick of Renfrew; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Horner of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar F. Mullen. whom she married on Jan. 17, 1953, and who passed away June 14, 2001.
MULLEN — Friends of Dorothy M. Mullen, who died Saturday, May 6, 2023, will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 East North Street Butler.
Funeral service will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. with Pastor B.T. Gilligan of Nixon United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Brownsdale Cemetery.
