SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock freshman defensive lineman Marcus Martin has been chosen the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Freshman of the Year.

Martin broke The Rock’s single season sack record with 15 and has 22.5 tackles for loss, both of which lead the PSAC.

Other Slippery Rock players chosen for the first team include: running back Shamar Greene, offensive tackle Cory Tucker, linebacker Austin Miele and defensive back Admire Carter.

Second team selections for the Rock include offensive guards Joe LoSchiavo and Kirk Nypaver, placekicker Mike Wainauskis, defensive lineman Joe Phillips and defensive back Derrick Fulmore.
