Helen Marie Toth Cedzo

Helen Marie Toth Cedzo, 86, of Cabot passed away Tuesday after a courageous battle following complications of open heart surgery.

Helen was born on Aug. 2, 1928, in Leechburg, to the late John and Helen Kundrak Toth.

She was previously employed as a librarian for West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh and also was a teacher at Har-Brack High School.

Helen was a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she was president of her sorority, Sigma-Sigma-Sigma.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Legion of Mary rosary Prayer Service where she said the rosary at Fair Winds Manor Nursing Home.

She enjoyed listening to classical music and had a passion for the opera. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bicycling, yoga, swimming, cross country skiing, vacations with family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed travel, especially to Europe and Canada.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Theresa) Cedzo of Downingtown, John Cedzo and David Cedzo of Cabot, and Christopher (Christine) Cedzo of Erie; her daughter, Laura (Matthew) Bourgeois of Albuquerque, N.M.; her grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Hannah, and Jared; her brother, John S. (Rita) Toth of Bethel Park, and her sister, Margaret “Dolly” (Lloyd) King of Plum.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cedzo in 2000, and her sister in infancy, Julia Ann Toth.

Cedzo— The friends of Helen Marie Toth Cedzo, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, will be welcomed by her family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at theClawson Funeral Home, 170 Main St., Leechburg.Additional visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot.
