Joyce L. Krebs
Joyce L. Krebs, 79, of Renfrew, Forward Township, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 2023, at UPMC Passavant Hospital surrounded by her children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, sisters, and her niece and nephew.
Born in Butler on April 16, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris Raley Baker.
Joyce had been a secretary for Marburger Dairy, and had also worked at Gumpto’s Greenhouse.
She was a member of Crestview Presbyterian Church in Callery, and sang in the choir there.
Joyce lived a very full life and was always up for a good time of laughter and food with friends and family. She was known for her love of flowers and gardening, loved to sing, and especially enjoyed Elvis Presley’s music.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and decorated her home with all of her family pictures. She also enjoyed ritual Saturday mornings at the coffee shop with her daughter, Beth, sisters, Carol and Janice, and niece, Linnea; and Thursday outings with her daughter-in-law, Debbie. Her son, Brian, and his family would call and make visits from North Carolina as often as possible, especially for holidays.
Joyce was known to be vibrant, sometimes even fiery, and overall just full of life and laughter. Her smile and laugh will especially be missed.
In addition to her father and mother, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Don Krebs; her ex-husband, Frank Makray; her brother, Larry Baker; and her nephew, Ryan Bailey.
Surviving are her son, Frank Makray (Debbie) of Zelienople; her daughter, Beth Born of Butler; her son, Brian Makray (India) of Lexington, N.C.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Janice and Carol Baker, both of Evans City; and many other family and friends.
