Sharon L. Barnhart McElravy, 67, of Karns City, went to join her husband and family in their heavenly home Sunday evening, April 30, 2023, in Clearwater, Fla.

Sharon was born in Butler on June 14, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Shirley L. Reep Barnhart.

She was a 1973 graduate of Karns City Area High School and was of the Protestant faith. She was a member of Family Life Ministries, Church of God of Prophecy in Butler.

She enjoyed listening and singing to her Christian music, which gave her great comfort. Sharon had a caring and concern for the residents of Karns City and was a dedicated secretary to borough council for many years.

Sharon retired from Penreco in Karns City, where she had been employed for more than 40 years. While working full time, she also was the full-time caretaker to her husband.

Sharon married Randy L. McElravy on Oct. 1, 1977. Randy preceded her in death on April 15, 2018.

She is survived by her brothers, Francis A. “Frank” Barnhart of Karns City, and Stephen P. Barnhart and his wife, Shelly, of Chicora; three sons, Randy L. McElravy Jr. of Karns City, Eric McElravy (Patty) of Chicora, and Kirk McElravy of West Sunbury; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; a grandson; a brother-in-law; and two nieces.

MCELRAVY — Friends of Sharon L. Barnhart McElravy, who died Sunday, April 30, 2023, will be received from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF KARNS CITY, 128 Main St., Karns City.

A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert Hile Jr. of Family Life Ministries, Church of God of Prophecy officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.
