Ray Dale Campbell
Ray Dale Campbell, 83, of Penn Township passed away Friday at Concordia care in Cabot.
He was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Butler, the son of the late Orrin H. and Pearl Schroth Campbell.
Ray graduated from Butler High School in 1951. He then went to work at Pullman-Standard where he was payroll and benefits supervisor, staying two years beyond the closing of Pullman. He also served as a junior achievement adviser on the Junior Chamber of Commerce and was in the Industrial Management Club.
Ray served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, spending 14 months in Germany with the 103rd Armored Division.
He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He started golf when he used to thumb rides from Butler to Penn Township to work as a caddie at the Butler Country Club for many years. Ray and his wife, Shirley, enjoyed dining out with friends all over Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Ray is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who he was married to for exactly 40 years and two weeks, Shirley Huselton Campbell, who died Aug. 27, 2006.
Also preceding him were one brother and three sisters.
CAMPBELL — Friends of Ray Dale Campbell, who died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
