Ida Catherine Grove

Ida Catherine Grove, 75, of Sharon-Bedford Road, West Middlesex, Shenango Township, passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Ida was born on Feb. 5, 1939, in Butler County, and was the daughter of the late Helen Caroline Uenking and John Herbert Callihan.

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Patrick's Church in Hubbard, Ohio.

Ida enjoyed swimming and taking motorcycle rides with her husband. She was a beloved wife and mother to her family and many of the neighborhood children.

Ida married Paul Dean Grove on March 19, 1960.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, at home; her three sons, Andrew P. Grove of Hubbard, David M. Grove of Hermitage and Joseph W. Grove and his wife, Louise, of North Lima, Ohio; her two sisters, Loretta (Dean) Schnur of Butler and Carol (Sam) Gregor of Butler; her two brothers, James “Fran” Callihan and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Joseph “Hal” Callihan and his wife, Marilyn, of Mercer; and her four grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ed McKinney and John Callihan.

Grove— Visitation for Ida Catherine Grove, who died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at theSmith Funeral Home, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex. A family friend, Thomas J. Echols, will lead the funeral service. Interment will be at Haywood Cemetery.
