Modzelewski

Mary Jo Modzelewski, 78, of Butler, passed away Friday evening, April 28, 2023, at Magnolia Place in Saxonburg.

Mary Jo was born in Butler on Oct. 22, 1944, to Joseph and Agnes Eury. She graduated from Butler High School. Mary Jo attended Beaver County Community College. She was an RN for the Visiting Nurses Association for over 30 years.

Mary Jo was Catholic and attended All Saints Parish. She loved riding and caring for horses and other animals when she lived on her farm in Quaker City, Ohio, before she moved back to her hometown of Butler.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, of Butler; her brother, John (Donna) Eury of Oil City; her niece, Lisa (Steve) Hurlbert of Erie; her nephews, Rob (Teresa) Eury of Venus, Pa., Matt (Janice) Eury of Raleigh, N.C., Luke (Nicole) Eury of Belleview, Fla., Adam (Sarah) Eury of Pittsburgh; and her cousin and good friend, Pauline Saeler of Butler.

MODZELEWSKI — The family of Mary Jo Modzelewski, who died Friday, April 28, 2023, will welcome friends and visitors from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will then be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Butler.

Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
