Ida W. Bicker Smith

Ida W. Bicker Smith, 100, formerly of Natrona Heights died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

Ida was born on Thursday, April 19, 1917, in Winfield Township to the late George Oscar and Laura Jane Ross Bicker.

Ida worked in the business office at Allegheny Valley Hospital for 14 years before retiring in December 1979. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Tarentum and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and word puzzles.

Ida is survived by her daughters, Carole (Art) Gildner of Natrona Heights and Marilynn (Nick) Grant of Ortonville, Mich.; five grandchildren, Michelle (Ken) Misejka, Scott (Lori Lynn) Gildner, Tiffany (Bill) Hooks, Tanya (Dave) Gildner and Travis Grant; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla (Butch) Misejka Vallies, Ashlee and Nicole Misejka, Douglas and Samantha Gildner, Courtney and Taylor Orr and Declan Ciancaglione; two great-great-grandchildren, Brody Vallies and Cadance Borland; a sister, Betty Rieser of Cabot; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends at Concordia. She was loved by all and an inspiration to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Smith, in April 1998; a grandson, Mark David Gildner; a great-grandson, Matthew John Gildner; and her brothers Ross and Floyd Bicker.

SMITH — Family and friends of Ida W. Bicker Smith, who died Monday, May 22, 2017, are invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Presbyterian Church, 913 Lock St., Tarentum, with the Rev. Philip Beck officiating. Everyone please meet at the church.
