Mary Elizabeth McBride, 96, left this world to be with her Lord on Thursday. She had been a four-year resident of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on June 12, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary Mackey Thompson.

On Oct. 2, 1940, she married Melvin W. McBride, who passed away on Oct. 11, 1985. She was a homemaker and raised four children with her husband. Mary was a lifelong member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church, where she attended Sunday School and was a member of the Cross N Crown. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the church. Her pastimes included crocheting, sewing, quilting, baking and gardening.

Surviving are three daughters, Linda (William) Boettner of Slippery Rock, Nancy Geraci of North East, Pa., and Patty (Chad) DeCaria of Slippery Rock; five grandchildren, Lindsay Boettner, Nicholas R. Geraci, James Geraci, Antonio Geraci and Adam McCandless; one stepgrandchild, John DeCaria; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald McBride; a grandson, Joseph Geraci; a brother, Robert Thompson; and a son-in-law, Nicholas G. Geraci.

MCBRIDE — The family of Mary Elizabeth McBride, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Kail and Paul Cashdollar officiating.

Burial will be in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
