Raymond Lewis
Raymond “Joe” Lewis, 78, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. He was fortunate to have passed surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Butler on May 20, 1944, and was the son of the late Helen and Raymond Lewis.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and claimed to have skipped school each and every Tuesday.
He became a licensed barber after high school and then worked for the Bessemer Railroad for 32 years, until his retirement.
Joe was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
His love for watching sports was only surpassed by his love of gambling on them. This passion, however, took a back seat when his first grandchild was born.
He was preceded in death by his only sibling, Jon “Jack” Lewis.
Joe is survived by his companion of many years, Roseann Skal.
He is also survived by his daughters, Amber (Pat) Beets, April Lewis and Jaci (Dennis) Lewis; his son, Joey (Laura) Lewis; and his grandchildren, JJ and Corey Niles, Tate and Tess Lewis-Holcombe, Rocco and Dominic Accarpio, and Max, Kelsey and Sloane Lewis.
