Lindey

Ruby Rae (Ripley) Lindey, 84, of Brady Township, Slippery Rock, went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City.

She was born in Pittsburgh on May 4, 1938, to Harry D. Ripley Jr. and Ruby Rippelmeyer Ripley.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School.

She married Paul William Lindey on June 7, 1957, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2015.

She did many things over the years. She hosted clothing and Tupperware parties, sold Avon, merchandised cards and magazines, and created many items with her embroidery machine. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, ceramics and watching Fleury play hockey.

She was a member of West Liberty United Methodist Church.

Since the pandemic, she enjoyed packing monthly Sunday school boxes and separating craft packages for young people in the area.

She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Cindy R. Lindey of Brady Township, and Polly A. Lindey of Greenville; her son, Jeffery P. and wife, Robin Lindey, of Brady Township; her granddaughter, Ashley Bryant and husband, Orrin, of Townville, Pa.; her grandson, Eric; her granddaughter, Hannah Lindey of Brady Township, and her fiancé, Jamal Martin, of Rochester, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Gemma, Gwendolyn, Percival and Lysander Bryant; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Ripley; three brothers-in-law, Harry, Bob and Dick Lindey; and a sister-in-law, Millicent Lindey.

LINDEY — The family of Ruby Rae (Ripley) Lindey, who died Monday, April 17, 2023, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating.

Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to City Rescue Mission in New Castle.
