William "Bill, Ossie, Ott" Oscar Tackett, 88, of Saxonburg joined his Heavenly Father, Thursday at Fair Winds Manor Care Home in Sarver.

Since entering the world on March 23, 1921, he has led a wonderfully fulfilled life, where he spent some time as a Merchant Marine in World War II and worked for Chevron Asphalt, a subsidiary of Standard Oil of California.

Mr. Tackett loved the Lord and was a member and regular attendee of the Church of God in Lower Burrell until moving to Saxonburg, where he continued to worship at Emory Chapel United Methodist Church in Sarver. he enjoyed reading his Bible, sheering and supporting his grandchildren at their various extracurricular activities, riding his motorcycle with his friends until his early 80s, watching the evening news and Andy Griffith Show, laughing and telling jokes, drinking iced tea and, especially, eating pie. His favorite kind was "hot or cold."

In addition to his parents, his wife of 54 years, Wilma Kubec Tackett, who died March 26, 2002, and his three brothers, James, Garrel and John were waiting to welcome him to his heavenly home.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his three children, Janice (Alf) Lyle of Garden Grove, Calif., William (Mary) Tackett Jr. of Saxonburg and PamLyn (Bob) Allen of Slippery Rock, as well as six grandchildren, Angelo Rocco Botticelli III, Victoria "Tori" Botticelli, Crystal Tackett, William Tackett III, Geoffrey Lyle and Brian Tackett; and loving companion, Madelynn "Mitzi" Staff.

GIGLER FUNERAL HOME,</B> 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. His life celebration party will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Township.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
