Mrs. Georgia Chauncey Bare

Mrs. Georgia Chauncey Bare, 85, of Wilkesboro, N.C., died Tuesday at her home.

She was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Wilkes County, N.C., to James Alton and Lura Jane Wingler Chauncey.

Mrs. Bare was a member of the Union United Methodist Church. She was very active in the UMW, active in the Fenelton United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Bare enjoyed quilting and gardening. She enjoyed flowers and loved and cared for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forest Lane Bare; and two sisters, Ruby Sheets and Kathleen Kilby.

Surviving are two sons, Michael Bare of Braselton, Ga., and Allen Bare and his wife, Debra, of Aiken, S.C.; his daughter, Mary Jane Bare of Roswell, Ga.; his sister, Jean Foster of Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Lane Bare, Robert Bare, David Bare and Kathryn Bare; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Bare and Rylen Bare.

BARE — The family of Georgia Chauncey Bare, who died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday the Miller Funeral Service, Wilkesboro, N.C.The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Union United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Susan Pillsbury-Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mountlawn Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Robert Bare, David Bare, Lane Bare, Christian Foster, Jeff Foster and Matt Sidden.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church, 708 Curtis Bridge Road, Wilkesboro, N.C. 28659.Online condolences may be made to www.millerfuneralservice.com.
