Shirley Irene Gibson Emmett, 93, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023.

Born on Jan. 27, 1930, in Bradford Woods, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marrietta Steele Gibson.

Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Mars High School, and a 1951 graduate of the Allegheny School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for over 25 years.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 72 years, Paul L. Emmett, whom she married on Nov. 24, 1951; her sons, Douglas, Rian and Joel; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

EMMETT — Burial service will be held at a later date for Shirley Irene Gibson Emmett, who died Friday, April 7, 2023.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Benevolent Care, Lutheran Senior Life Foundation, 300 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063-1509.
