Pauline Pearson
Pauline F. Pearson, 95, of Grove Manor, formerly of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023.
Pauline was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Gilpin Township, Armstrong County. She was the daughter of the late Paul O. and Mariah E. (Klingensmith) Smail.
Pauline graduated from Leechburg High School in 1945.
She was married to Clarence “Sam” Pearson for 15 years.
Upon moving to the Harrisville area, she began her 32 years of employment at the United Community Hospital, formerly the Bashline Memorial Hospital in Grove City, as an LPN. Pauline was a natural caregiver and took great pride in her nursing career. With her companion, Donald Chutz, she traveled to many places. Her favorite was Hawaii and she was fortunate to make several trips.
She was a member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church in Harrisville and enjoyed the quilting circle. Pauline was an avid crocheter. Over the years, Pauline had crocheted over 650 blankets to be given away. Her family and others will treasure those blankets.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol A. McCann (Robert) of Rock Hill, S.C., Kay L. Davidson (Edward) of Lothian, Md., and Dean E. (Mary Ellen) Pearson of Harrisville.
Ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Pauline was welcomed into Heaven by her daughter, Mary Jo Palmer; her parents and brothers, Alfred Smail, Clifford Smail and Homer Smail; her sisters, Catherine Klingensmith and Marion Shearer; her companion, Donald Chutz; and former husband, Clarenece Pearson.
PEARSON — Family of Pauline F. Pearson, who died on April 7, 2023, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at JAMISON-MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.
Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Jeff Jones from the Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Harmony E.P. Church Quilting Circle, 234 N. Main St., Harrisville, PA 16038; or to National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891. Numerous family members of Pauline have been affected by multiple sclerosis and this organization held a dear spot in Pauline’s heart.
