New officers who will serve the Butler County Symphony Association for the 2007-08 season were elected at the annual association meeting May 1.

William Lehnerd was elected president of the organization. Other officers include Gary Kleemann, vice president; Joanne Glasgow, secretary; and Jim Weed, treasurer.

The orchestra’s 59th season will open on Oct. 13 at Butler Intermediate High School. Information is available by contacting the symphony office, 259 S. Main St., Butler, PA 16001 or 724-283-1402. Information is also available at www.butlersymphony.org.

The Associated Artists of Butler County has announced the winners of the annual Butler County High School Exhibit, now on display in the Rittlemann Gallery.

Works were judged by Butler Mayor Maggie Stock based on color, composition, creativity, presentation, workmanship and complexity/skill.

The award for best of show went to Dave Rocco of Seneca Valley High School for a piece titled “And I was Looking for You.”
