Evelyn J. 'Jeanne' Hackwelder

Evelyn J. “Jeanne” Hackwelder, 61, of New Wilmington, formerly of Parker, passed away peacefully Saturday morning following a illness she had since May.

She was born Sept. 22, 1951, in Pittsburgh to the late Edward J. and Esther E. Brand Mader.

She married William V. Hackwelder on June 30, 1970.

Jeanne was a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School. She retired from the Office of Personnel Management in Boyers in December 2011. She enjoyed reading, gardening, following politics and spending time with her dogs and her family. Jeanne dedicated her life to raising her children and enriching the lives of her family and friends with kindness, humor and love.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” at home; five children, Carrie Hackwelder-Longo of Emlenton, Eric Hackwelder and his wife, Sandy, of Erie, Jamie Hackwelder and his wife, Nuria, of Grove City, William “Bill” Hackwelder, of New York, N.Y., and Jason Hackwelder and his wife, Tara, of Chicora; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

HACKWELDER — Evelyn J. “Jeanne” Hackwelder passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Father Michael Allison as celebrant. Following the Mass the family will receive friends in the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jeanne's memory can be given to the American Cancer Society by calling 800-227-2345.Arrangements are entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
