Cynthia Brewer
Cynthia Lou Brewer, 70, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband and sons on Monday, April 3, 2023. Cindy was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Belleville, Ill., to Norton and Delores Woodward.
Early in life, Cindy found a love for sports and was a standout on the softball field. She graduated from Belleville High School West in Belleville, Ill., in 1971. Shortly thereafter, she moved to West Virginia, where she earned her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 1975; she furthered her education by earning a master’s degree from Slippery Rock University. Cindy was a passionate teacher and dedicated 36 years of her life to her teaching career. After sharing her wisdom, kindness and compassion with thousands of students, she retired from Seneca Valley School District in 2012. In retirement, Cindy became very interested in her heritage and genealogy. After months of research, Cindy became a proud member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Cindy had an extraordinary eye for color and design. Whether it was creating a beautifully landscaped yard, or updating a room with new artwork, her creations always impressed. Cindy enjoyed spending her free time landscaping, jogging, antique shopping and spoiling her cats with love and affection. Beach vacations with extended family and her yearly “girls trip” were standout memories for Cindy.
Cindy was a devoted Mother and Wife who loved her family unconditionally and did everything to make their lives easier.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 45 years, Richard Brewer; her two children, Daniel and Adam (Konley) Brewer; her father, Norton Woodward; sister, Pamela Plaskett; brother, Timothy (Tina Perrine) Woodward; brother-in-law Randall (Julia) Brewer; and nephews, Michael (Nguyen) Sieburg and Christopher and Brad Brewer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Woodward.
