Harold Martin Mahood

Harold Martin Mahood, 94, of Branchton Road, Boyers, passed away at 6:55 a.m. Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice following a brief illness.

Harold was born Aug, 15, 1923, in Argentine, Washington Township, to James Mahood and Mollie Moyer Mahood.

He had been employed as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1988. During his career, he operated different drag lines throughout mostly Springfield Township, Clintonville and other areas. Included in his duties was his operating of what was called the “Big T” for Perry Brothers Coal Company.

He attended the Bell Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church at Old Annandale.

Surviving is his son, Howard Martin Mahood of Boyers.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Margaret Alberta Mahood, who died May 1, 2017; his daughter in-law, Nancy Jobe Mahood, who died Dec. 1, 2016; one infant son, Harold E. Mahood; five sisters; and four brothers.

MAHOOD — Family of Harold Martin Mahood, who died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, will receive friends from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of a funeral service at noon at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with Pastor Gary Warinner of Bell Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church presiding. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
