Sheila Witzel
Sheila Witzel, 88, of Evans City, got her wings and flew to heaven to be reunited with her husband, Bob, and daughter, Judy, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Born Dec. 17, 1934, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” McNichols and Pearl Kleeman McNichols.
Sheila was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and crocheting. She loved gardening and watching her flowers grow. She was affectionately called “Mrs. Doolittle” by her family for her ability to talk to animals. Sheila will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her children, Vickie (John) Rupert of Zelienople, Bill (Michel) Witzel of Slippery Rock and Bonnie Rae (David) Wilkinson of Harmony; her six grandchildren, Christine, Steve, Rebecca, Clay, Kurt and Tim; her seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Donna Witzel of Evans City, Gayle Norman of Ohio and Patty Alls of Ohio; and nieces and nephews, including her special nephew, Gary.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Witzel; and her daughter, Judy Ann Kline.
“So, she put her wings on, for the very first time. And climbed, to the highest bough of the tree, stood up tall, she opened her arms out, and jumped. Off she flew, with the wind beneath her. Off she flew, oh, what a sight. Off she flew, with such delight. Off she flew, with a flicker of light. Off she flew, into the star filled night.”
