Collision in city involves pedestrian
Emergency crews rushed Wednesday morning to the scene of a vehicle crash involving a bicycle.
Butler County 911 dispatchers initially sent crews around 7:55 a.m. to the intersection of West Brady and North Washington streets for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to Butler City Fire Chief Chris Switala.
“It was actually a vehicle versus a bicyclist,” Switala said.
Switala said the man was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital, then flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
City police also responded and investigated at the scene.
Firefighters closed down North Washington Street around the crash site for about 10 minutes.
