Margaret “Margie” Jane Henry Watterson
Margaret “Margie” Jane Henry Watterson, 80, of Portersville passed away Sunday at her daughter's residence.
She was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Clarion County, the daughter of William Henry and Vernie (Snyder) Switzer.
Margie was dedicated to her family and loved caring for her home and those she loved. Once her children were older, she worked as a housekeeper for Super 8 Hotel.
In her free time she enjoyed watching the Gameshow Network, with “The Price Is Right” being her favorite show. Playing bingo and poker, and buying scratch-off tickets were also some of her favorite activities. Margie was happiest when she was with her family and she especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be best remembered for being a wonderful caregiver and having a kind spirit.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, David C. Watterson of Butler, Mark W. Watterson of Chicora, and Thomas A. Watterson and his wife, Nicole, of East Brady; her daughters, Connie J. Wiencek of Portersville, Kathy L. Watterson of Bruin, and Shirley McMaster and her husband, James of Portersville; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Aites of Reedsburg.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Mark D. “Cycle” Watterson, whom she married Sept. 17, 1956; a daughter, Sally A. Vlassich; her grandchildren, Louis Watterson, Desmond Watterson and Blain Best; and her brother, Leroy Henry.
WATTERSON — Relatives and friends of Margaret “Margie” Jane Henry Watterson, who died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, will be received from 6 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, with the Rev.
