Fairview Twp. man charged with assault
FAIRVIEW TWP — State police Monday arrested a township man on charges he fondled an 8-year-old girl last year.
Gregory F. Wilson, 65, allegedly admitted to inappropriately touching the child at his home, according to court documents.
District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Wilson on a felony charge of corruption of minors and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault and child endangerment. Wilson is free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
The alleged victim, now 9, during a July 23 interview with a child victim advocate accused Wilson of fondling her while she was at his home in 2014, police said. The girl said she twice removed Wilson’s hand from her body and told him to stop.
She recounted that he later told her not to tell anyone what he did, a police affidavit said.
Police on Thursday spoke to Wilson after he was given his Miranda warnings. He corroborated the girl’s account, documents said.
A preliminary hearing will be Aug. 25 at Stoughton’s office on Chicora.
