PennDOT upgrades Route 228, detour planned
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin work on Route 228 next week to improve drainage and travel conditions in Middlesex and Clinton townships.
On Monday, April 10, drivers can expect single-lane restrictions near the intersection of Route 228 and Route 8, according to a news release Tuesday.
Route 228 will be closed from its intersection of Route 8 to its intersection with Old Route 8 North on April 14 and 21 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
As a detour, PennDOT recommends traveling Route 8 to Route 356 and then onto Route 228.
Work will be weather dependent, and April 28 has been chosen as a rain date in the event of cancellation.

The $3.4 million project — which includes drainage construction and resurfacing — is expected to be completed in August.
