James Arthur 'Jim' Tackett

James Arthur “Jim” Tackett, 76, of Connoquenessing Township passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday at his home.

He was born March 1, 1937, in Corsicana, Texas, to the late Arthur Edgar Tackett and Willie Ethel (Chapman) Tackett.

Mr. Tackett was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked as a truck driver and shipper at the Castle Rubber, Co.

Mr. Tackett is survived by one son, Matthew J. Tackett of Evans City; one daughter, Patricia A. Stach of Evans City; six grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Tackett; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia K. Tackett, who passed away Oct. 20, 2000; one daughter, Autumn Lynn; one brother, Norman Tackett; and one sister, Vera “Baby” Phillips.

TACKETT — There will be no public visitation for James Arthur “Jim” Tackett, who passed away Monday, June 17, 2013.A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. James Swanson of the Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating.Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society of Greater Pittsburgh, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
