Gary Watterson

Gary Watterson Sr., 65, of Sarver, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1957, and was the son of Jeanne (Frailey) Watterson and the late George Watterson Sr. of Tampa, Fla.

After graduating from Freeport High School, Gary served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1975-1978. He then went on to drive a truck professionally for over 20 years.

Gary was a very active member of the Sarver Vets Club for over 40 years, and most recently served as its treasurer.

He loved hunting, fishing, reading and watching westerns. Gary also had a passion for fixing small engines and tools, a hobby which let him help his family and friends. He was known to be hardworking and a great friend.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his children, Heather (John) Kuzmirek, Gary (Kerry) Watterson Jr. and Jennifer Watterson; his siblings, Keith “Bud” Watterson, James Watterson, Sheryl Cribbs and George Watterson Jr.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Along with his father, Gary was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Diamond.

WATTERSON — Family and friends of Gary Watterson Sr., who died Friday, March 31, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Prayers will immediately follow in the funeral home.
