CRANBERRY TWP — The township supervisors Thursday changed the zoning ordinance to allow indoor recreational and instructional businesses to be in all of the commercial zoning districts.

This covers businesses such as dance studios and martial arts schools.

Township officials have said these businesses have caused no problems in the areas where they have been in the past.

The change also would eliminate lengthy and costly conditional use processes for these businesses.

CRANBERRY TWP — MSA, a producer of safety products and systems, has announced two executive leadership changes.Joseph Bigler, formerly president of MSA's North American business segment, is now in the newly created role of vice president and chief customer officer. In this, Bigler will be responsible for leading the global implementation of a customer program. He has been with MSA since 1971.Nish Vartanian was named president of MSA North America. He has been with the company since 1985.In 2010, Vartanian played the lead role in guiding the integration of MSA's acquisition of California-based General Monitors. In 2011, he was appointed to MSA's executive leadership team. and in 2012, he was elected vice president of MSA's fixed gas and flame detection business segment.

CRANBERRY TWP — The MSA board of directors has announced the election of Stacy McMahan as chief financial officer and treasurer.McMahan will retain her role as senior vice president while assuming the responsibilities of CFO and treasurer.She is replacing Dennis Zeitler, who will retire from the company in August 2014. Until that time, Zeitler, who was elected CFO in 2000, will be a special adviser to William Lambert, MSA's president and CEO.Since joining the company in December 2012, McMahan has overseen MSA's internal audit, treasury and decision support groups. Her election to CFO is part of a management succession process that began last year, according to a company news release.MSA is a producer of safety products and systems.

PINE TWP, Mercer County — The Grove City Medical Center recently announced its blood bank maintained AABB accreditation.AABB, formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks, conducts an on-site assessment that substantiates the level of technical and administrative performance that meets or exceeds its standards. The accreditation program contributes to the quality and safety of collecting, processing, testing, distributing and administering blood and cellular therapy products.

HERMITAGE, Mercer County — F.N.B. Corp. has announced the launch of F.N.B. Capital Partners LP, a small business investment company.It will deal with private equity investments in middle market companies.The principals of F.N.B. Capital Partners include Stephen Gurgovits Jr., Matthew Harnett and Tyson Smith, who are all former employees of F.N.B. Capital Corporation, a merchant banking subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp.Collectively, the team has 35 years of experience.The SBIC Fund will target investments of up to $10 million across a broad spectrum of industries.F.N.B.
